# Earning with shUSD

> Deposit and receive shUSD.

    Minting shUSD requires identity verification and wallet screening. See [New wallets](/depositors/new-wallets).

  <Step title="Choose a vault and deposit">
    Pick a vault, enter an amount and confirm. The first time you deposit, your wallet may ask you to approve the vault contract. \[TBD: accepted deposit asset]

    The vault mints shUSD to your wallet: at 1.00 at launch, and at the vault's current NAV after that, so every depositor enters at the same value per token.

## What shUSD represents
